A New Year Message to Christians.

God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil. - Acts 10:38
We need to refocus our hearts and our minds on the things of God in the present day church, have an understanding that church is not mainly about us but about God. When we gather as a local assembly, our main reason should be to worship God and give him praise and thanks. The local assembly used to be regarded as "a place of worship". Now it seems our reasons for gathering have become selfish and about us; the message being preached and by whom its being preached has taken more importance than worshipping God with all of our hearts.
Let us all embrace God's love which is shared abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost and express this love towards other Christians and non-Christians alike. How else can we win a non-Christian to Christ when what we seem to do presently is to express our preferences for one man of God to another? Let us let go of every form of bitterness, hatred, malice and gossip.
How I long for the day when Christians can gather and attend any local assembly for the
main reason to worship God.
The main work to be done for God is not in or with the local assemblies but in the fields. Jesus said to his disciples, "the harvest truly is  plenteous but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest that he will send forth labourers into His harvest." Matthew 9:37-38.
It is good to gather together and listen to the teachings and take part in the activities but it is simply not enough.  We need to make ourselves available to God for His harvest. We have a mandate as christians which is also called the great commission.
Mark 16:15-18. "And Jesus said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believes and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believes not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall  lay hands on the sick and they shall recover."
My prayer for us all is that in 2014, the grace of our Lord Jesus to fulfill this mandate on earth, the Love of God shared in our hearts that leaves
no room for neither bitterness nor envy, and the communion of the Holy Ghost rest and abide with us & in us in Jesus name.
We are God's instruments and God wants to express so much good in this world through us.
May the hand of God rest mightily upon us this new year as we do great exploits for Him.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

With love from 'Yomi & 'Lola Faneye.
